On October 12, 2006, Gerald Williams was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame. Gerald has been singing bass for The Melody Boys Quartet for more than 55 years. His Hall of Fame induction distinguishes him as one of Southern Gospel Music’s acknowledged Greats. Beyond that, Gerald is respected throughout the Industry as a man of integrity with a true heart for the Lord. Roy Pauley, of The Singing News Magazine, has said of Gerald, “He’s without question today’s most accomplished bass.” The Melody Boys Quartet is one of the few full-time groups on the road today that has remained true to their Southern Gospel roots. When the Melody Boys take the stage, they make every effort to fill the majority of their programs with traditional quartet harmonies, using nothing but the piano for accompaniment. And on the occasions when more instrumentation is used, the Melody Boys are committed to keeping the volume at comfortable levels.
